Title: Underwriting Assistant

Location: Baltimore Branch (Timonium, MD)

Description: Provides technical, organizational and administrative business support to the branch office, including coordination of data submission between the branch and external locations, maintenance and organization of files, databases, and other business reports. Processes and reports all new and renewal bond business. Assists underwriters in the branch with front-line agent inquiries, and at branch manager’s discretion, handles specified classes of bonds as assigned.

Requirements: High school education and minimum of five years in an administrative support role. Previous experience in an insurance company or agency preferred. Reading comprehension, accurate math and spelling skills required. Advanced PC skills including knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Office and Windows required. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, listening, problem solving abilities, organizational and time management skills necessary.
